Allison Durham Speer was raised in the Bluegrass fields of Kentucky, and even a land as vast as that was not big enough to contain her talent. Introduced to Christian music at a concert by The Imperials, she watched as Russ Taff perform the songs, "Praise the Lord" and "New Creation," and was instantly passionate about the gospel word set to song.

The passion she felt that night has taken her to the stage as a regular on the Gaither Homecoming videos and tours, and in mega-churches such as First Baptist Atlanta (Dr. Charles Stanley), The Brooklyn Tabernacle, First Baptist Woodstock (Rev. Johnny Hunt), as well as small rural churches.  She has also been a featured artist for many Bible study cruises with Charles Stanley and D. James Kennedy, a guest soloist at the national Southern Baptist Convention, the Nazarene General Assembly, and numerous Praise Gatherings and Family Fest Events hosted by Bill Gaither.

This talented woman's unique gift of storytelling embraces you with the comfort of a good friend.  Allison says, "One of the multitude of things that I learned from my years touring with Bill and Gloria Gaither - and am still learning - is that the warmth and comfort of your own living room is a wonderful atmosphere to strive for in a concert."

Allison is a regular instructor at Ben Speer’s Stamps-Baxter School of Music, held annually in Nashville, TN.  Her daily Performance Training and Vocal Technique classes are favorites among the students.  She also consults with groups and soloists as a communication and performance coach.  The conviction of her heart is to prepare servants for ministry in the church.  “God has blessed me with the ability to minister to the church and I want to pass along what I’ve learned over the years.  I want to help raise up a group of leaders who will serve the church with excellence in communication.”

I could talk for days about the lessons learned in Allison's training: "Be a servant," "learn your Bible," "love on your audience." But the lesson that rises above them all is, "Communicate the Gospel." Allison teaches us to break through the invisible wall that often divides the performer from the audience. She encourages us not to sing to a 'crowd', but to sing to hearts and souls. Great songs, perfect pitch, and beautiful tones mean nothing if we're not using it all to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I completely recommend Allison's training to anyone seeking to build an honest, inspiring, life-changing music ministry.

Allison Durham Speer is one of the most incredible people I have ever had the chance to meet. I have seen her on the Gaither stage and was blown away by her voice. However her voice is only an extension of her heart. She is wise in so many areas of music and technique, but the way she teaches with such love and patience is what stands out the most. Brian and Allison are the kind of people you can walk up and talk to like you've known them for years. I highly value their professional opinions and Godly teaching. Since my time with them, I have not only gained more confidence and ability on stage but have been blessed with two great friends.
